What is Moore’s Law?

Moore’s Law is seen to have varying definitions depending on what scholar’s plan on focusing on when discussing different area affected by Moore’s Law. This law was written by George Moore who is one of the original founders of Intel. Back in that time, processors where huge and expensive. However now we see much smaller and cheaper production. Moore predicted that this rate of progress happen every two years with transistors shrinking in size and therefore lessening the cost of production. And so far, his law has proven to be accurate but recently progress in transistor research has slowed down. In fact, Intel, the very company that Moore helped build, has shown clear struggle in continuing to produce smaller and faster processor to satisfy the two year rate. As a result, scholars have debated when Moore’s Law will finally end. And more important, what happens to the computer industry afterwards.
